13 Jul Melzer & Hopfner leads appraisal process – New Karrenseilbahn valley station
The Dornbirn Karren cable car is to receive a refresh. The conversion or new building is due to be completed in 2025.
As part of this project, the valley station building of the Karren cable car will be almost completely rebuilt. In order to maximize creativity and ideas with regard to the design of the valley station building
Melzer & Hopfner
developed a structural engineering concept and led the subsequent expert opinion process.
The winners of the process were
architects Innauer and Matt
emerged as the winners. The new valley station building will be visually similar to the existing building and will have a modern and functional design. The construction will result in significant improvements for passengers and substantially optimize internal processes for the cable car and the panorama restaurant. At the same time, after a good 25 years, the cable car is being brought up to date technically. This means that the entire electrical equipment is tested and is therefore state of the art again.
