18 Jul The mandatory internship: experience, learning and personal development
For many pupils and students, the summer vacation offers a great opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of work and gain valuable experience. There is a similar exchange of experience in the course of studying architecture – the so-called compulsory internship. This not only offers financial benefits, but above all provides a valuable opportunity to gain in-depth insights into the world of work and thus the chance to put what you have learned into practice.
In this respect, a mandatory internship allows students to experience first-hand what it is like to work in a professional environment. Last but not least, important skills are developed during an internship. These include communication skills, problem-solving skills, teamwork, self-organization and resilience. By solving and working on actual tasks in a real working environment, teamwork is required, and it is also necessary to take responsibility and to test and hone one’s own skills.
In short, an internship is more than just a summer job for students. It offers valuable experience that goes beyond the financial benefits. At the end of the day, it’s a win-win situation for both the intern and the employer, who benefits from the intern’s knowledge and learns new ways of thinking and working.
We wish you dear Lucas a lot of fun and joy for the next 2 months in our team and look forward to a fruitful exchange!
