08 Apr New 6SBK-Tröglbahn: Renewal offensive at Nassfeld
Nassfeld, the largest and best-known ski resort in the south of Carinthia, is about to undergo an exciting modernization. Since the 1960s, it has been a magnet for winter sports enthusiasts of all abilities, thanks to its extensive pistes, which stretch over approx. 110 km, and a multitude of lifts. Now it’s time to take another step into the future – with the Tröglbahn, a brand new 6-seater chairlift that will replace the existing 4-seater chairlift from the 2024/25 winter season.
State-of-the-art technology for maximum guest comfort and safety
The main criteria for the construction measures were the uncompromising increase in comfort for passengers and the optimization of the route, taking into account the investment costs. Ideas were needed here.
The Tröglbahn will not only increase transport capacity and will be able to transport up to 3,000 people per hour from the coming ski season, but will also shorten the journey time to just under 5 minutes with a travel speed of 6m/s. But not only the performance, but also the comfort is raised to a new level. Weather protection hoods, seat heating, conveyor belt and locking bar are just some of the latest safety and comfort standards that the Doppelmayr 6-seater chairlift will offer. In addition, preparations are being made for autonomous AI-supported security monitoring of the disembarkation area to ensure passenger safety.
Sustainable planning and implementation
The renowned Bregenz cable car planning office placed great emphasis on sustainability when planning and implementing the Tröglbahn. The installation of a photovoltaic system on the building façade and integrated into the panoramic windows on the mountain station building is one example of this. In addition, care was taken during planning to minimize the ecological impact and conserve natural resources.
