01 Dec 8SBK Lärchkogelbahn – Operating permit available!
ROPEWAY PLANNING AND COORDINATION WITH THE AUTHORITIES BY THE ENGINEERING FIRM MELZER & HOPFNER
After a 6-month construction period, the most powerful chairlift in Styria has been completed and was handed over to Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen GmbH by Leitner AG on 27.11.2020 following approval from the authorities. In addition to maximum comfort and significantly higher transport capacity than the previous chairlift, the new stations in particular are a real eye-catcher.
The bottom and top stations of the chairlift will be built in the classic Planai design. The large glass areas in the valley station allow guests to take a look at the technology in the chair garage. At the mountain station, a walk-on roof landscape provides a breathtaking view.
The station design of the cable car technology was created by the Italian designer Pininfarina, who is responsible for the visual realization of well-known brands such as Ferrari and Maserati.
The new 12 million project will serve three main downhill runs (Kraiterabfahrt, Lärchkogelabfahrt and the World Cup start run) on the Planai.
From the first day of operation in the 2020/21 winter season, the 62 chairs will transport guests in the Schladming-Dachstein region from the valley station to the mountain station in just 3.75 minutes. At full capacity, a transport capacity of 3,500 people per hour is achieved.
The Melzer & Hopfner team would like to thank you for the many years of loyalty and good cooperation on the 8 SBK Lärchkogelbahn project and wish you lots of fun and success with the new lift.
