✨ Second successful inspection in two days: New 8SBK Limbergbahn in Saalbach can start operating! ✨

With around 270 kilometers of slopes, the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is one of the largest and most attractive ski areas in Austria. After 29 years and well over 15 million passengers transported, the Limberg 4-seater is retiring. It will be replaced by a modern 8-seater chairlift, the successful acceptance of which we can announce today. The new 8SBK Limbergbahn in Saalbach is already the second project supervised and planned by Melzer & Hopfner to be handed over this year.

Our expertise was demonstrated by the decisive work on this project, which ranged from the careful preparation of various variants, the cable car planning to the structural engineering design and implementation planning, including the associated tendering and smooth coordination with the authorities. senior site management. This holistic approach was reflected in the successful collaboration with the companies Doppelmayr, Frey, Fatzer, Empl, Oberrater, HTB and numerous other professionals who played a key role in the project.

The biggest thanks go to the Saalbach mountain railroads who have been relying on Melzer & Hopfner’s know-how for decades. With this constellation and the usual composition of the project team, it was once again possible to build a unique project in a sensational collaboration – thank you very much!

The new 8-seater chairlift not only brings increased transport capacity and comfort to the sunny side of the Schattberg, but also demonstrates a commitment to sustainability. This is because a large-scale PV system at the valley station supplies green electricity, while the heat pump with deep probes provides the heating energy for the valley station.

In addition to the cable car technology itself, the infrastructure building in the valley station houses numerous well-equipped parking spaces for snow groomers and the necessary storage, service and technical facilities.

The Limbergbahn is not just a pure winter sports feature. For the possible future integration of the facility into the bike trail network, up to 5 downhill bikes can be transported per chair, thus underlining our vision of a year-round lift.
